Misty Mountain Hop (Live)

MISTY MOUNTAIN HOP (Rare Live Track)

From the upcoming album, Don’t Mess With Ed: Live At The 9:30 Club

In 1989, a booking agent from Dallas, Texas cold-called Jah Paul Jo and asked, “Are you in this band, Dread Zeppelin?”

“Yeah.”

“Is it a real band… like one that would go on a tour? Or is just a joke?”

“No, man… it’s a real band. We’ve been playing in the Los Angeles area… a lot,” says JPJo.

“Well, I’ll tell you what… I’ve got club owners from all over the country asking about Dread Zeppelin – and they’ve even said that THEY would pay to see them! You guys have got to let me book a tour!”

And book, he did. DZ rented a van and trailer and hit the road for around 50 gigs in the USA and Canada. “Misty Mountain Hop” was recorded on that tour in our nation’s capitol, Washington D.C. at the 9:30 Club. The entire set was captured by the sound man that evening, and it is probably one of the only FULL CONCERT recordings that exist of the early original band.

The show is being prepared for release as “Don’t Mess With ED: Dread Zeppelin Live at the 9:30 Club,” but we wanted to give the fan club a taste of the performance.

Here is Tortelvis, Jah Paul Jo, Carl Jah, Fresh Cheese ‘n’ Cheese, Put-Mon and Ed Zeppelin (Mach I) in all their glory.

Enjoy and discuss…
